This week the library jump-started their "Terrific Tuesdays" with a show, Scales and Tails from Utah. I discovered that our library is close enough to our house that it is way easy to round up the kids and walk over! This show was a lot of fun. James definitely enjoyed seeing all of the creepy crawlies and reptiles. He made a disgusted face at the tarantula but I can hardly blame him! I am sure my face was deeply concerned as well!
James got to pet this snake! I'm not afraid of snakes but I am such a germaphope that I couldn't do it! And I promptly smoothered James' hands in hand sanitizer!
Our movie theater also started up their summer program this week. They show kid movies all summer long and this week we got to see "Turbo". I haven't seen this one before so I enjoyed the movie and thought it was cute. All the kids did great too. I decided to hire my sister, Caroline, for the summer movies so I could have an extra set of hand with so many kids under the age of four. I am glad she came! The kids did great but of course we had a few potty breaks and an occasional wiggle worm! The movie theater is also really close to my house so we were able to walk. I'm so excited that our house is in such a great location! Lots of fresh air, sunshine, and exercise for this summer!
I also had the chance to be crafty this week. We have a double stroller and it's been getting pretty worn down and sun damaged. I discovered fabric spray paint that can help with this very problem! I love the results and love how much it livened up our stroller.
Before and after pictures:
We started our Saturday morning doing the annual Bark in the Park 5K. I'm not ready, and honestly never will be, to run it so we walked it. I plan for this to be a yearly tradition, every bit including just walking! Of course we brought Lexi but we also rented a humane society puppy to walk as well. He was a border collie/lab mix and James named him Kidd! I think that will have to be our next dog's name! He was adorable and completely melted my heart. If Peter was even a year older I am sure we would have took him home but Peter deserves to have a dog too and he is to young for one. The puppy was not really one for walking and after 100 feet he joined our boys in the stroller!
Lexi was also part of the fetching competition. She did not win but she loved playing fetch! Such a happy dog, I even got a picture of her smile!
After the dog park we went to "Touch a Truck". They had so many vehicles and James was enthralled by all of them! We met up with my little brothers for part of it which James loved! We had a chance to see contruction trucks, fire trucks, semis, army vehicles, and so much more. We even had the oppurtunity to see the helicopter take off which completely blew James' mind! I took way too many pictures but James was so excited I had to capture it all!
This was such a fun day! On Sunday it was Father's Day! We had a few gifts and this year I was finally able to do a questionnaire with James! Some of his answers were silly but that is exactly what I was hoping for. Matt insisted I do nothing because next weekend we are taking daddy camping! It was still fun to surprise him with the little things!
We also discovered this week that picky Peter loves lemons! Of course This was given as a joke and Peter actually wanted more! This is a strange kid!
I love my sweet boys and love being able to give them an adventure. I thought that I would have a hard time in a small town but have been very surprised with how much goes on! And just in case I didn't use enough pictures, here are some more from this week!
Happy baby Peter!
My sister Claire brought me flowers this week! She arranged them and everything in her Boces class! She is so thoughtful!
Morning time nap, these boys are too cute even when they sneak into my bed!
