Raja

I am finding it very difficult to write this post. I find that it feels final or that I have given up hope. On Thursday; our cat, Raja, escaped through the backyard. We tried that evening to go look for her without success. We decided to go to bed and try again the next day.

On Friday, Matt drive around and I called for her. I left the back screen open so I could hear her if she returned. Jason came over and I walked around the neighborhood, looking and calling for her. After my brother left, the kids and I went walking and tried again.

It broke my heart James calling out for Raja to come to him.

There have been no signs of Raja. I posted on Facebook and called animal control but I am still waiting for someone to have seen her. Friday evening we had a bit of a misunderstanding. Matt planed to open the door with the screen shut so we could hear her. I told him to him to only crack the door so that it didn't get cold. Matt thought I meant with the screen door open so that she could come in.

Saturday morning I wake up and went downstairs to find that Aladdin and Jasmin were also missing! I woke Matt up in a panic. Luckily Aladdin was right next door and came in and soon as we called him. Matt then took Lexi and went on the search in the desert. He told Lexi to find Raja, to find the cat. Lexi then began to sniff the ground in search. Matt did not think she would lead to anything but decided to follow her anyways.

After a little while of walking Lexi brought Matt to a dead cat. It was a horrible discovery but we were both proud of Lexi for finding this. Matt then kept on following Lexi and she led him to a bush. He glanced at it and saw nothing so he attempted to move on but Lexi was persistent on this bush. Matt then took a closer look and found that there were four small kittens!

I had been walking the block a little ways off with the boys and came to meet up with Matt. He told me about the kittens. We were both excited that Lexi did a good job finding them. We went back to go towards them. Lexi ran ahead and to the bush. Mama cat had returned and stood her ground against Lexi! We tried to go back again but bring discovered, she moved her babies some other place.

We continued for awhile to walk around with the boys, searching and asking anyone we saw if they had seen a little cat. We still have not had any luck in finding her.

I keep hoping to get a call from animal control. I know they were closed for the weekend and for the holiday. We do feel that Raja would have approached someone. She is a very friendly cat and would have seemed help. We hope that someone took her in. I feel that if they did that maybe they are waiting for animal control to open or they have decided to keep her. She our sweetest cat and looks like a kitten because of her size.

It seems too heartbreaking to write this post as a goodbye. I still have hope that she will find her way back to us. I want more than anything to come back with a positive update on her!

We love her so much. She is a beautiful cat with the sweetest personality. She warmed up to the boys instantly and was definitely their cat. She is such a great cat and I pray that it isn't time to say goodbye.

Memorial Day

I want to write this post and focus on all of the positive things that happened this week. We went to my sister, Caroline's, last band concert. She didn't sign up for next year! Silly girl! I really feel she should have stuck through with it! James likes going to concerts. He always has fun with the music. This was Peter's first time and at first the music woke him up and startled him! He was fascinated with the lights and all of the different sounds. We love going to these concerts. I know Matt  wants the boys to join band, I hope this early exposure helps them desire to join!

We also had a fun play date this week with a friend of mine. The pictures were actually taken by her, I didn't think about pictures! I am glad she caught the memories. We tried to play in the front yard first. That turned out to be quite tricky with so many little children running around. While, I know they could all understand "Play on the grass", if one child went off then the rest would quickly follow! We soon decided to move to the backyard and had an easier time. I really enjoyed having them over and hope they come again soon!

Later in the week James got sick. I know this is not positive but it's one of the first times James has gotten throw up sick. I think there was one other time and that was on a car trip so maybe it was motion sickness! Don't mind me, just using my blog for some record keeping. I am a complete sickness freak! Lucky James went to bed shortly after and woke up feeling under the weather but not queasy.

Saturday was a very special day for my sister Claire. She turned 8 and got baptized on the same day! I had the oppurtunity to give a talk on the Holy Ghost. It was very special to share this day with her. There were many people that came to show there love and support for Claire. I am so happy for her and I have to say that I am very impressed with her. She is only 8 but she seems to have so much understanding. There is a lot of faith in this lovely girl. She is a wonderful example to me. The rest of the weekend James kept telling me that Claire got baptized and he wants to be baptized. Thank you Claire, for the amazing person you are!

And more exciting news! Peter has tried his first food! We were having dinner at a friends and we went with more of a baby led weaning with this time. He tried some cantaloupe and loved it! I admit he didn't so much eat it but rather played with it but that is half the fun! I do plan to officially try purée this coming week. But this was a fun way to start and just seemed right. Peter is definitely ready for food!

Peter discovered that forks make things a little bit easier, especially with slippery melon!

Today is Memorial Day and I would say that we are very Patriotic family. Matt, especially, loves the oppurtunity he gets with these holidays to teach the boys to love and respect our country and the men and women who protect it.

We had a fun day of swimming, barbecues, and family! Earlier in the day we pulled out our pool and filled it with warm water. James loved it so much more this time around! Peter also woke up from his nap in time to play in the water. This was actually his first time to ever go swimming. I feel that he enjoyed the water. He seems very much like a water baby!

Trying out his new swim suit!

I also got my Jamberry nails in just in time to celebrate the holiday with my nails.

This week has been filled with many happy memories and I know that my family and I are very blessed. I am not looking forward to my next post but I am grateful my life is filled with so much joy.
