Peter's First Time Camping!

This blog post is a day late but it's only because I was so exhausted last night after a very full and eventful week! Once again I will be bringing a picture smorgasbord! It seems that I either take a ton of pictures or forget to pull out my camera so I guess let's be grateful I took them!

We started off the week by going to the library to listen to the fire fighters. They taught the kids about fire safety and then showed us their fire truck. For some reason, the weather was awful this last week! So bad that it snowed in June!! Tuesday it was windy and cold. My mother in law, Deb walked to the library. I'm happy she was there to help me scoop up the kids and speed walk out of the cold!

Even though it was cold, we still had fun!

Thursday is officially our movie day! We went to see "Walking with Dinosaurs". Luckily Thursday was a nice sunny day after it snowed on Wednesday! I was happy because I thought we would have to miss the movie if the walk was too cold!

Peter fell asleep during the movie. I will not mind if he decides to make this a habit.

Tried to make dinosaur jigglers! Forgot to grease the mold. I think I have only one successful jiggler experience in my whole life!!

I also had a relief society activity on Thursday so Matt took the boys to go on a walk to the park with their Grandma Rebecca. They had a fun time and were able to enjoy the beautiful weather after a week of nasty weather!

On Friday, I spent the day cleaning and packing so that we could leave for Utah after work. Our first stop for our busy weekend was in Park City! We were going to spend the night camping at a little RV resort. I loved this campground! We were right next to a little river and up a ways that had a heated pool for the guests! I definitely am keeping this place in mind, my type of camping!

A playground in front of our campsite.

 "And then we sleep outside?!"

This was Peter's first official camping trip.  I do think we brought him out earlier then we had with James. I admit I was worried about how he would act but he loved it! He especially loved being snuggled up in a sleeping bag with mommy. Now the challenge will be getting him to enjoy his crib again! He also really enjoyed all of the fun things to look at. What a change of scenery this was! I love how much these boys love camping. This will make for busy fun summers for years to come!

In James' mind there is little better than a glow stick!

Peter thinks the texture of the grass is very interesting!

We all really liked the pool!

Saturday morning we stuck around in Park City to go check out the Alpine Slides. This was quite the adventure for Matt and James. Peter and I stayed down below. I do not think I would ever want to go but in a couple years Peter will also need a driver! But let us cross that bridge when we come to it. :)

After the Alpine Slides, we went to Salt Lake to visit the Hogle Zoo. I remember the first time we brought James. He was really young and slept the entire time! The zoo trip is one of my favorite trips and I always look forward to it! I love watching James grow and become more interested in everything. I look forward to seeing Peter do the same!

Our combined weight with the stroller and full diaper bag barely weigh the same amount as a newborn elephant!

The zoo spray park! Such a nice relief on a hot sunny day!

James got to ride an "elephant"! He thought that was amazing!

After the zoo we went to Braza Grill. This is definitely one of our favorite places to eat! I usually get a brazillian soda called gurana but I decided to try the strawberry brazillian limeade. It came in a cup as big as my head! James thought it was very yummy and I will second that. I guess I learned that even non alcholic drinks can come in big pretty glasses!

After we ate we still had more to do. Our next stop was to the The Living Planet Aquarium! The recently remodeled and move location! I love everything that they did! This was an awesome location.

They had this rope bridge to go across. Of course Matt and James had to try it out. However James quickly learned that this was actually super scary. I could hear him panicking and Matt telling him to just keep moving forward.

Touching star fish and sting rays!

Peter absolutely loved the aquarium! So many things to look at!

Love James' scared face!

My favorite part was this big tunnel with sharks swimming all around us!

To finish off this very crazy day we went to Tanner's Flatt to camp another night. When we got there, we were told the camp was full! Peter had starting crying and clearly was fed up with driving. Luckily for us the lady told us she would let us stay at a group campsite and the only risk was others may show up and we would have to share. We didn't mind at all. I think she felt bad sending away a crying baby! This place was a lot more out doorsey than our last campsite but it was gorgeous out there!

I did not get that many pictures here. After a weekend of camping, my phone finally ran out of battery. However, I feel nature is better enjoyed without technology!

This was such a fun week and weekend! I think with how many pictures I take, I should start doing seperate blog posts for my weeks and weekends! We had a blast and Peter loved camping and as usually James thought this was the best adventure! We are going to Jackson for the fourth and I am grateful to know that they will be enjoying it. Camping is a lot of fun but I am so happy to be back home in my comfy bed with the ability to control the temperature!
Life is good! :)
