Burger Challenge (Part 5)

We did it! We ate at all five places! Well post of us made it to the finish line. It seems that my brothers have opted out of the challenge. No "time"! Jason actually came over for our last burger so he was able to eat one from Remedies. Jason only needs to get grubs and Clay needs Remedies and Grubs! But what can you do? At least we accomplished and with two days to spare.

Today was Remedies. Now both Matt and I work during Remedies' hours so we called it in and Matt picked it up during lunch to bring to me! We have had  Remedies before so we have had the chance to enjoy sitting up at the booth and enjoy the fun atmosphere of Remedies. But even though we missed out on that today we still enjoyed their awesome burgers!

I would have to say this is one of my favorites, right up there with grubs! The cheese was delicious and they put fried onions up on the burger! Oh so yummy!! And now our burger pictures!

Burger Challenge (Part 4)

We are almost done with the burger challenge! This week we got to go out for lunch on Saturday. Our hope was to get Remedies since it is only open during lunch hours but they were closed for Memorial day weekend! Luckily Bittercreek was still open and we could still have a yummy burger!

Bittercreek has a whole menu of just burgers! There are so many options that I had no idea what to choose! I ended up going with "The dude" which had an onion ring and ranch! I love ranch and can't believe I never thought about putting it on my burger! So good!

Matt tried to be adventurous and try something new. I can't entirely remember the name but it had a weird "G" named cheese on it. This actually turned out to be a bad idea! Matt did not like cheese! Now there was no way we would send the burger back but Matt scraped off the strange cheese and Our waiter was kind enough to bring out some cheddar and barbeque sauce! A much better burger after that. Haha, nothing against that interesting burger; I believe it's an inquired taste.

I do really enjoy Bittercreek Brewery and they make some great burgers. I am really happy that they weren't out of burgers this time! Here are our burger pictures!!

Raja

I am finding it very difficult to write this post. I find that it feels final or that I have given up hope. On Thursday; our cat, Raja, escaped through the backyard. We tried that evening to go look for her without success. We decided to go to bed and try again the next day.

On Friday, Matt drive around and I called for her. I left the back screen open so I could hear her if she returned. Jason came over and I walked around the neighborhood, looking and calling for her. After my brother left, the kids and I went walking and tried again.

It broke my heart James calling out for Raja to come to him.

There have been no signs of Raja. I posted on Facebook and called animal control but I am still waiting for someone to have seen her. Friday evening we had a bit of a misunderstanding. Matt planed to open the door with the screen shut so we could hear her. I told him to him to only crack the door so that it didn't get cold. Matt thought I meant with the screen door open so that she could come in.

Saturday morning I wake up and went downstairs to find that Aladdin and Jasmin were also missing! I woke Matt up in a panic. Luckily Aladdin was right next door and came in and soon as we called him. Matt then took Lexi and went on the search in the desert. He told Lexi to find Raja, to find the cat. Lexi then began to sniff the ground in search. Matt did not think she would lead to anything but decided to follow her anyways.

After a little while of walking Lexi brought Matt to a dead cat. It was a horrible discovery but we were both proud of Lexi for finding this. Matt then kept on following Lexi and she led him to a bush. He glanced at it and saw nothing so he attempted to move on but Lexi was persistent on this bush. Matt then took a closer look and found that there were four small kittens!

I had been walking the block a little ways off with the boys and came to meet up with Matt. He told me about the kittens. We were both excited that Lexi did a good job finding them. We went back to go towards them. Lexi ran ahead and to the bush. Mama cat had returned and stood her ground against Lexi! We tried to go back again but bring discovered, she moved her babies some other place.

We continued for awhile to walk around with the boys, searching and asking anyone we saw if they had seen a little cat. We still have not had any luck in finding her.

I keep hoping to get a call from animal control. I know they were closed for the weekend and for the holiday. We do feel that Raja would have approached someone. She is a very friendly cat and would have seemed help. We hope that someone took her in. I feel that if they did that maybe they are waiting for animal control to open or they have decided to keep her. She our sweetest cat and looks like a kitten because of her size.

It seems too heartbreaking to write this post as a goodbye. I still have hope that she will find her way back to us. I want more than anything to come back with a positive update on her!

We love her so much. She is a beautiful cat with the sweetest personality. She warmed up to the boys instantly and was definitely their cat. She is such a great cat and I pray that it isn't time to say goodbye.

Memorial Day

I want to write this post and focus on all of the positive things that happened this week. We went to my sister, Caroline's, last band concert. She didn't sign up for next year! Silly girl! I really feel she should have stuck through with it! James likes going to concerts. He always has fun with the music. This was Peter's first time and at first the music woke him up and startled him! He was fascinated with the lights and all of the different sounds. We love going to these concerts. I know Matt  wants the boys to join band, I hope this early exposure helps them desire to join!

We also had a fun play date this week with a friend of mine. The pictures were actually taken by her, I didn't think about pictures! I am glad she caught the memories. We tried to play in the front yard first. That turned out to be quite tricky with so many little children running around. While, I know they could all understand "Play on the grass", if one child went off then the rest would quickly follow! We soon decided to move to the backyard and had an easier time. I really enjoyed having them over and hope they come again soon!

Later in the week James got sick. I know this is not positive but it's one of the first times James has gotten throw up sick. I think there was one other time and that was on a car trip so maybe it was motion sickness! Don't mind me, just using my blog for some record keeping. I am a complete sickness freak! Lucky James went to bed shortly after and woke up feeling under the weather but not queasy.

Saturday was a very special day for my sister Claire. She turned 8 and got baptized on the same day! I had the oppurtunity to give a talk on the Holy Ghost. It was very special to share this day with her. There were many people that came to show there love and support for Claire. I am so happy for her and I have to say that I am very impressed with her. She is only 8 but she seems to have so much understanding. There is a lot of faith in this lovely girl. She is a wonderful example to me. The rest of the weekend James kept telling me that Claire got baptized and he wants to be baptized. Thank you Claire, for the amazing person you are!

And more exciting news! Peter has tried his first food! We were having dinner at a friends and we went with more of a baby led weaning with this time. He tried some cantaloupe and loved it! I admit he didn't so much eat it but rather played with it but that is half the fun! I do plan to officially try purée this coming week. But this was a fun way to start and just seemed right. Peter is definitely ready for food!

Peter discovered that forks make things a little bit easier, especially with slippery melon!

Today is Memorial Day and I would say that we are very Patriotic family. Matt, especially, loves the oppurtunity he gets with these holidays to teach the boys to love and respect our country and the men and women who protect it.

We had a fun day of swimming, barbecues, and family! Earlier in the day we pulled out our pool and filled it with warm water. James loved it so much more this time around! Peter also woke up from his nap in time to play in the water. This was actually his first time to ever go swimming. I feel that he enjoyed the water. He seems very much like a water baby!

Trying out his new swim suit!

I also got my Jamberry nails in just in time to celebrate the holiday with my nails.

This week has been filled with many happy memories and I know that my family and I are very blessed. I am not looking forward to my next post but I am grateful my life is filled with so much joy.

Burger Challenge (Part 3)

We have finally made it over the hump! More than halfway to succeeding at this challenge! Today we went to Grub's! My brothers didn't join us because Clay was sick, but they will catch up soon!

I have to say, this has been our favorite burger so far! I didn't think it would be but I think their secret is the cheese! So yummy :)

Grub's Drive In is a small little diner and everyone sits together up at the counter. It is a lot of fun and James thought it was way cool. He even pointed out that his daddy was sitting by a stranger but that's half the fun. It really brings you back in time and honestly the way it's built brings people together! Again, this has been our favorite stop!!

Now I have more pictures today because I couldn't decide my favorite of James!

James and Matt

Now that's a good burger!

Backyard Camping

Get ready for a picture overload because this last week was a very fun one! It did start like any other week, with our music class. Sadly this was our last one. It has been fun and this is the first time I have done the class too. It has been pretty cool watching James. He loves asking for his favorite activities like "Jack be nimble". Unfortunately James doesn't pronounce to great so it is like he keeps asking his teacher for "Jacks nipple"! I am just glad she caught on quick what he keeps asking for!! Peter enjoys the class also. He loves whenever I dance with him and all of the little instruments that he tries to put in his mouth.

The rest of the week went on as normal with the burger challenge thrown in but then on Thursday Matt's package showed up at Walmart. The new family tent!!! Since we have grown we decided it was time to buy a bigger tent and I am way excited! We also bought new sleeping bags, big king size bags that zip together so we can have a big bed. It also goes down to -5 degrees which is pretty awesome because I hate being cold. Matt was so excited that he decided to put up the tent in the backyard. And if you have a tent in the backyard you just have to sleep in it! James and Matt decided to test it out. Peter and I made the decision that the bed was a much better option so we stayed inside.

Late night snack before venturing out to the tent!

Our new tent! Yay!

James thought this was so cool!

Lexi was pretty excited too!

In the morning I let Peter have a try at the sleeping bags. He seems pretty excited for camping this summer! I'm thinking July fourth will be our first family voyage in this thing!

On Saturday, we got even busier. My sister Claire was coming over and it just so happened that the city was having their city wide cleanup. We called up my brothers, Mark and Kevyn, and went to clear some trash in the dessert near our home. These kids worked hard to show they cared, I was very proud of them all.

Peter helped by being happy the entire time! He loves walks!

Our trash pile!! The kids found so much!

After some hard work, it was time for some fun! We pulled out our pool and filled it up for the kids to play in. One of our neighbors walked by and laughed saying that "Only in Wyoming is 70 degree weather appropriate swimming weather!"

The hose was hooked up to our hot water heater but even with the warm water Claire was very much taken by surprise by this!

Lexi really enjoyed the water!

James did end up getting a little cold but then mama got to have some cuddle time! No complaints here!

To end our week we bought Peter a jumper and he absolutely loves it! It is so funny watching his hop up and down; he gets so excited! James also likes playing with him and Peter loves when his big brother plays with him!

I have a goofy pair of kids!

I will end this post with Peter's new silly thing! He loves making faces with his tongue and blowing bubbles!
